Vigor 2830 as VPN endpoint. was created by daviesap
Hi

I've just installed a new router which unfortunately does not offer a VPN server - only passthrough.

I want to keep using my old Vigor 2830 as a VPN endpoint only, alongside another router.

Would this work?

- let the Vigor 2830 get an IP address from my new router (switch off NAT,DHCP). Connect a LAN Port on the Vigor to a LAN port on the new router.
- I set up port forwarding to the Draytek for whichever VPN ports I need
- reserve a pool of ip addresses on the new router and set these to be distributed by the Vigor (only two or three people will connect at any one time)

The VPN on the draytek has been working fine for the past couple of years - I have just changed it to a more suitable router.

Any advice much appreciated.

Regards

Andrew
