2830n and VPN from Windows 7 was created by philguk
Hi all
Apologies if this is answered somewhere - I did look (honest)
I'd like to set up VPN on my 2830n so that I can access my home LAN from outside when I am travelling
I run Windows 7 on my laptops, so hopefully this will be simple
Bear in mind, apart from knowing what VPN IS, I know very little else about VPN
Thanks
Phil G

Create a PPTP user on the Draytek and then use windows VPN client (PPTP) to Dial the external address of the Draytek.
If the external address is dynamic then you might need to use dynDNS or similar

I think I need more detail - I created a PPP user on the Draytek and a VPN connection under Win 7
But the connection doesn't complete
So there must be something else

PS Or more accurately something I've done wrong

its should be as simple as setting up a "remote dial-in" user (under VPN)
Just selcte PPtP in the profile and set up a user name and password
Create a VPN connection (network and sharing centre / create new connection or network) to Draytek external address from w7 to draytek and use the above username and password.
