Hi,

Got two 2850Vn on the internet and dual tunnel (A dials B - and - B dials A) VPN established ok.
Got an MBPro at site B trying to save (via Apple Time Machine) to an Apple Time Capsule in site A.
I have a fair amount of the application blocks enabled, and whenever a TM backup is attempted, I see traffic (which is good) - but - the occasional alert re application blocks between the two devices (MBPro at site B in network 192.168.x.x - and - TC in site A network 10.0.x.x) - and then later the TM backup fails.

I'm going to try disabling all of the the application and protocol blocks and see if that helps.

But - in the meantime - just wondering if anyone else has got a working TM backup via VPN to a TC ? Would just like to know that it does work.

Thanks.

Disabling the protocol filters on both 2850Vn seems to be allowing steady traffic - but it's pretty slow:
1,100.0 Kb/s
= 137.5 KB/s
= 8,250.0 KB/min
= 495,000.0 KB/hr
= 483.4 MB/hr
= 0.5 GB/hr
moving: 23.0 GB
will take: 48.7 hrs

That's pretty slow for two devices on BT's VDSL service.
But, ping latency (from an edge device in site A via router A via VPN to router B to edge device at site B) is only 40ms.

Is this just a feature of a domestic circuit ?

The 1,100 Kb/s is what the traffic graph is showing - which must include VPN overhead...
...because the VPN connection screen shows an average of roughly 40,000 B/s on each of the two VPN tunnels...
...which equates to...
80,000.0 B/s
78.1 KB/s
625.0 Kb/s
4,687.5 KB/min
281,250.0 KB/hr
274.7 MB/hr
0.3 GB/hr
23.0 GB
85.8 hrs
3.6 days

It would be quicker to post a USB stick :p

Found that I needed to reduce MTU on the source and target. Now get about 2 Mb/s via VPN over a link that has 20Mb/s upstream each side, and a 40ms average latency.
