2960 dial in dns doesnt work was created by psychonaut
hi i hope you are well.

very frustrating.

after much head scatching, i finally figured out that the dns wasnt working on a pptp dial in connection.

i can access remote stuff if i use ip address, but not by device name.

then googled this and found that there was a firmware update that fixed this and allowed you to use the lan dns instead of the wan.

ive updated the firmare to 1.0.7.1 but i cannot find the option to enable the use of the lan dns anywhere.

there are several other old thread about this but no solutions.

this is a right pain in the arse. can anybody help me please?

In Lan/General Setup there's a DNS Redirection option on f/w 1.08 - is this it?
