Hi

We have been succesfully using a VPN to allow remote access for a while but now I have been asked to set up some Apple kit to do the same.

I have got the VPN connection sorted fine but the server won't connect or show up

I have tried connection to the router and NAS local IPs, I have tried redirecting ports to the NAS but so far only ftp://192.168.1.27 bring up the user authentication dialogue box - the credentials however don't work. smb://192.168.1.27 just times out as does afp://192.168.1.27

The NAS is set up for windows and Apple File Protocol. Windows machine go straight in and the whole thing is accessible no problem. I thought Apple just did windows access.

Pinging the router is fine but pinging the NAS times out

Any suggestions? or is there something I have missed?
