Hi all

I have seen loads of posts on the forum for establishing a L2L VPN from same subnet networks, but nothing about HOST VPN's where the host *could* be on the same subnet.

I have a working IPSEC VPN into my Vigor 2830 and it works fine for most of the time, until I try to use it from a client site that is on the same subnet as my LAN, then as you would expect, I can establish the VPN to the router public IP, I get given a DHCP IP from my LAN and because it's on the same subnet as where I am connecting from, any IP calls go to the local LAN and not the remote LAN.

In such a situation, I would like to have a second IPSEC VPN that I can use that includes a feature like the Whole Subnet Translation NAT that is an option on L2L VPN's so the subnets become unique.

Any ideas on how to achieve this? many thanks.

Wise to use dhcp on the routers themselves, and then tick the box that says "on the same subnet"

Should work flawlessly.

Worth pointing dns at the routers also.

Hi,
Came across this post while searching for the answer to the same problem.
Host to lan VPN where the host is on the same subnet number as the lan.
I can see nothing about “on the same subnet” for the dhcp options.
Am I missing something? I use a combination of static and dhcp for my lan network.
