Vigor 2860 Trouble opening port for PPTP VPN was created by arcola
Hi all,
Apologies if this has already been answered, as this seems like a simple question but I'm stumped.
I'm trying to set up a VPN tunnel using PPTP from a static IP windows client to an external VPN server, and cannot find the correct combination of settings to ensure our 2860 router allows traffic on port 1723. Does the default firewall setup block PPTP VPN connections?
Kind Regards,
Martin

If the PPTP client (dialout) is inside your LAN, behind the V2860, and the PPTP server/host is somewhere else on the Internet then you do not need to open anything on the router (V2860).
