Draytek 2860 Always on VPN was created by gungey
I've got a 2860 that I use as a VPN server, but I can only seem to get PPTP working with Android phones (IPSEC/L2TP works fine with Windows/Apple).

Is there a way that I can get an always on VPN connection (this isn't available on Android over PPTP) from an Android Phone to my router? It looks like there is a bug getting IPSec/PSK or L2TP working with Android.

Has anyone managed to do this?

IPSEC/L2TP been broken for a while in Android V6, see: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=196939

Damn. I hope they fix it!

Is there a way I can get OpenVPN on the 2860? I thought that it could do it when I bought it, but I can't find a way to enable it anywhere.

I'm now using the Draytek SSL VPN on my phone (smart VPN client for Android). Seems ok, certainly connects far quicker that the Android IPSEC/L2TP ever did (back when it used to work!). I guess the Draytek SSL VPN is not dissimilar to OpenVPN as both are SSL based - but I'm no expert on this so no idea whether the two are in any way compatible!

Can that be set to "always on", so that no traffic can avoid the VPN?

I believe ticking the 'use default gateway on remote network' in the Smart vpn client has this effect. Not sure how to conclusively prove it though!
