How to setup my 2860Vac as an OpenVPN client

Hi,
I have a Vigor2860Vac bought recently with the intention of setting up as an OpenVPN
client on an OpenVPN server as one of it's uses, but have discovered that OpenVPN is
not available as an option.
I note OpenVPN is available on the 2960 and wonder why it is not available on the
2860Vac, the omission spoils an otherwise exultant VDSL router.
Is it possible to use the SSL VPN on the 2860Vac to connect to the OpenVPN server?

Regards

Hiya,

You can't!

Does your endpoint support IPSEC? That's your best bet.

OpenVPN is not available in any of the DrayTek product's specification (it was in a beta, but discontinued)

Hi all,
I have discovered it is not available, but I have come across a
2860 manual with the fifth choice of "OpenVPN" under SSL, this could be
that the 2860 units used Linux OS previously as with the 2760 series routers.

Since opening the original post I have had brief access to two 2760s, one
with Linux OS and the other with DrayOS, they are identical to look at.

As mentioned before, I bought the, as I thought, most comprehensive
modem/router available which would connect in any situation presented.
The 2860 is an excellent router otherwise.

OpenVPN is becoming more popular. I know L2TP, L2TP over IPSec is available
but I needed to connect to someone else who uses, guess what! - OpenVPN.
I do not think you can ask anyone to change their system to suit you.
Draytek to Draytek is fine.

Many thanks

If you ever looked in oemwin2k.inf file in the program directory of the smart vpn client you would see below, makes me think they have licensed openVPN for their SSL VPN but I have never found out how to use this to open up to either the stock OpenVPN client or to interoperate in any other way:
