Setting up connection to VPN Unlimited service was created by jonmach
Hi All,
I have a 2860n+
I've used some of the guidance found here against other VPN providers but cannot seem to get a connection to VPN Unlimited.
I set up a LAN to LAN profile for Dial-Out leaving the Remote Network IP, Gateway, and Mask all set to 0.0.0.0, but defining the server IP and hostname for the VPN. I'm assuming that if everything is OK, then it will simply connect, and I can then set up specific source IP ranges that will by default route through the VPN. Connection Management shows it not connected. Is there anything else I need to do?
Does anyone else have experience using VPN Unlimited? Their support is good, but they don't provide any documentation on Drayteks (or many other routers for that matter).
Syslog shows the following:
2017-02-11 08:46:15 Destroy pptp connection ifno: 10, socket: 17
2017-02-11 08:46:15 [L2L][DOWN][PPTP][@1:VPNUnlim.]
2017-02-11 08:46:15 PPP Drop VPN : L2L Dial-out, Profile index = 1, Name = VPNUnlim., ifno = 10
Is there any way for me to determine what other obstacles there might be?
Many thanks
Jon

Because the router would be connecting to the service in the same way a computer would, make sure to set the NAT/Route setting at the end of the VPN profile to "NAT" mode, so that it doesn't route your internal network to their network.

Thanks for that - I didn't have NAT set, but I now do.
I still have a problem connecting:
2017-02-17 18:40:04 Destroy pptp connection ifno: 10, socket: 17
2017-02-17 18:40:04 [L2L][DOWN][PPTP][@1:VPNUnlim.]
2017-02-17 18:40:04 PPP Drop VPN : L2L Dial-out, Profile index = 1, Name = VPNUnlim., ifno = 10

Problem solved
My username was being truncated (53 chars) and I didn't notice it. A shorter one resolved it.
Thanks for your help
