L2TP or not was created by robertb24
I have a Windows server and have been using PPTP VPN connections which have been very reliable. I just port forward from my 2860 port 1723 and the server authenticates via RRAS. Great
I am now wanting to move to L2TP which after port forwarding 1701, 500 and 4500 UDP works with pre shared key etc.
However, I also have another office which I am connecting via a Lan to Lan IPSEC tunnel which breaks L2TP as that needs IPSEC to port forward to the server for authentication.
How does everyone else do it? I need VPN auth on the server so I have remote access logs and need to move away from PPTP.
thanks
Rob

My favourite, would be to establish the VPN connections to the 2860 , rather than the Windows Server. You could authenticate them using the Windows machine - using either Active Directory, or Radius.
