IPSec VPN was created by wscjohn
Using Draytek Smart VPN Client, when remote laptop is connected via ethernet cable to home router can log into work server (Draytek 2860n), but when remote laptop is connected to home router via wifi cannot log into work router or even ping it despite having a VPN connection, tried it with 3 laptops, two routers and two ISP'S, anybody any ideas why wifi is a problem

Try temporarily disabling Windows Firewall...perhaps the two networks have been classified differently (i.e. Work/Home/Public) and different rules are being applied?

Perhaps try a compare-and-contrast exercise...

Try a 'traceroute' rather than a 'ping', on both a working and a non-working connection.

In case you're not familiar with it...
Code:
c:\>tracert Usage: tracert [-d] [-h maximum_hops] [-j host-list] [-w timeout] [-R] [-S srcaddr] [-4] [-6] target_name Options: -d Do not resolve addresses to hostnames. -h maximum_hops Maximum number of hops to search for target. -j host-list Loose source route along host-list (IPv4-only). -w timeout Wait timeout milliseconds for each reply. -R Trace round-trip path (IPv6-only). -S srcaddr Source address to use (IPv6-only). -4 Force using IPv4. -6 Force using IPv6.

So maybe just
Code:
C:\> tracert -d w.x.y.z
(where w.x.y.z is your target IP address)
