Is 'Change Default Route to this VPN tunnel' ticked ?
If not does ticking it make any difference ?

No, I turned off the Dual Wan enabled default routing and not traffic is transmitted back from ExpressVPN, I can see the Requests go our but no response. Which is the same as when I create a default load balance rule to use the Express VPN route.

Looking at the logs it connects to ExpressVPN does seem to be given a gateway and then drops every three mins and repeats.

Something at the ExpressVPN end it not liking the connection. In fact it seems that ExpressVPN are actively blocking the connection.

I take it you can make a successful openvpn connection from a computer on your lan ok and it doesn't drop that connection ?

Correct same .ovpn file too.

Curious if the other router implementations have a way to say how many devices are behind it, I have quite a few behind mine for example i.e. on the local lan devices.
