Blackberry Storm 2 wifi problem with 2710n was created by oldcodgeman
Anyone had issues with browsing using the Blackberry Storm 2 and the 2710n?

I can find and connect wirelessly to the 2710n with the Storm 2 but cannot browse. Yes, the Storm 2 has been set to hotspot browser :) .

I've tried using a laptop with the same ip, subnet, gateway and dns settings and can connect and browse without problem. The router is 'as it came out of the box', except the ip and subnet have been changed and I'm using WPA2/PSK. I've tried changing the channel but no joy, just a grey wifi symbol on the Blackberry.

I can connect and browse wirelessly with the Storm 2 using a different make of router without problem. I've heard a lot of people have trouble with Netgear routers and the Storm2 but not with Draytek?

Any ideas?

first thing to try is to turn off the WPA2/PSK encryption on the router and attempt to reconnect with the storm. If that works then it's down to the encryption settings or possibly the wrong key.

If it makes no difference then try an ascertain whether the storm has been issued a valid ip address by the router. I have no idea how you'd check this with a storm but you may be able to see from the router diagnostics options. It may be that the router is not issuing a ip address via dhcp correctly, this has been know to happen with 2820's and windows mobile devices. If this is the case you be be able to work around the issue by binding an ip address to the mac address of the storms wifi adaptor or by assigning a manual ip address to the storm on the phone itself. Neither of these two options are idea but at least they could get you working and narrow down the fault.

It looks to me that something is stopping it from connecting to the Blackberry Infrastructure - weird as this works fine using another router.

Did you resolve this issue? My daughters BB Storm 2 is also having the same problem. It can connect to the WiFi and the 2820Vn shows it as connected but it doesn't alllow a connection to the internet. It was working fine until a few days ago. No changes have been made to router or phone.
The phone can connect fine through other WiFi's.

Exactly the same problem with my daughters BB Storm 2. Used to work a while ago but then just stopped. Using a 2820vn. Could this be a bug with the firmware?

Is this right ?

Primary DNS: 10.0.0.38
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

Is your router LAN IP 10.0.0.1 ?
