Wireless awful on 2710n was created by ahanson
I have a 2710n that i use as my broadband router that also has a site to site VPN to my work site.
The problem i have is that the wireless is awful. The signal goes up and down and when it shows as excellent i have major issues browsing sites.
Youtube just wont work at all, a speedtest hangs halfway through and sometimes i just cannot browse at all. A ping test from my PC times out intermittently.
I have tested the PC and wireless adaptor on another wireless router and it works perfectly, so the issue is somewhere on the router.
It is a 2710n, the main firmware is 3.3.6_232201. The wireless firmware is 2.3.2.0. It is a few weeks old so i need to know if there is a fix or i need to return the unit.
Any help would be appreciated.
I can supply more info if required.
Thanks in advance.

update from 3.3.6 to 3.3.6.1, 3.3.6 is a bad firmware.

Hi voodle, quick question;
I have downloaded the firmware file and i am doing this remotley as i am currently not in front of the router.
I have 2 files that come down with the firmware - v2710_a4_3361.all & v2710_a4_3361.rst.
I have selected the .all file and clicked on upgrade via Web firmware upgrade.
The router lost conenction then came back on but the firmware is still showing 3.3.6_232201.
What am i doing wrong?
thanks

Stop the Press!! I have now sorted it.
It must kick off any external connections when it starts the upload, so i have done it from the PC hard wired.
All sorted and working great now.
thanks
