Number of User's limitation was created by mmawji
Hi All,

I just wanted to find out the max. number of wireless users the 2820/2830/2850 routers would be able to handle. Has anyone had any real life experience of when the routers begin to fail.

Basically need to setup a wireless network for a conference of approx 250-300 users. All connected to the network wirelessly to access a shared resource on a server.

If the routers wouldn't handle the load, then what would be the alternate solution.

Regards

Wires ;) you can never beat the reliability of a wired network. There's too much fascination with wireless, it is slow and unreliable imo !

I agree, however this conference only takes place once every 2 years and and over a period of 3 days at most.
Cabling up connections for 300 users, wouldn't be the best option for us.

for 100 users we're using 3/4 cisco wifi boxes.

i think the draytek would be worse!

One question: how do you spread your users sessions evenly over however many wireless access points you need?
