Can i use a DrayTek 2820N for home?

OK, at home i have a Virgin Media Super hub, but connection is not the best. Wold it be better and would i be able to switch i into modem mode and then use the draytek device mentioned as wireless network?
Would it be better/stronger?

Many thanks in advance.

JB

Yes, ABSOLUTELY. Put the superhub in modem mode, and connect the LAN4 port from the superhub to the WAN2 port on your Draytek. The Draytek is a billion times better than the AWFUL superhub.

Sorry - I absolutely disagree.

I have XL (100) Virgin, and a Draytek 2850Vn - and I only get 60Mbps through it in Modem mode (SuperHub with R36 firmware) - through the SH directly - I get 80-105Mbps anytime I try it.

Seeing as the 2850 has a higher throughput on its WAN port, and a higher throughput through the firewall than the 2820 - I don't fancy your chances (with my experience so far)

I have the Draytek setup with no QoS etc. - doesn't help.

Totally agree with toph3r.

My suberhub was dreaful, poor wifi signal, had to be reset constantly.
Superhub to modem mode with a 2820vn and bingo, no more issues at all - hasnt need restarting once, and coverage is much better. :D

Old post but one more opinion
Yes like mentioned post up, the WI-FI is much better than the Superhub, but not the greatest
For 100mb connection the wan 2 will not get the fully speed easy ...while the SH wired almost most time of the day will "clock" 105mb, while my 2850 will do almost 100mb very rear
