2850 setup within sbs2003 network was created by matty_b
Hi,

I'm looking to integrate wifi into an sbs2003 network. Currently have standard sbs setup - NIC1 (lan from the server) into the switch and NIC2 (wan from server) into the 2850. What's the best way to allow wifi for "office users" (allowing resource access to everything on the lan) and also a separate wifi network for guest users?
The server does dhcp for the wired lan, so want this to stay the same. Just need "office users" to pick up wifi, get an address and be able to access resources.

You can't, basically - not because the 2850 won't let you do this, but because you have a 2-NIC SBS2003 configuration with the 2850 on the WAN NIC. The 2850 is therefore outside of your LAN.

While MS allowed for a 2-NIC config (and indeed recommended this at first) on SBS2003 this was never really the way to do things, and most SBS2003 installations have been migrated back to the much more sensible 1-NIC architecture (all later SBS versions only supported 1-NIC anyway). If you do that, you can use the 2850n in the way you want.
