2850n mixed mode 11n 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz was created by steve23094
Hello,
I love my Draytek 2820n routher and am considering upgrading to a 2850n. One of the features of the 2850n I am particularly keen on is 5Ghz 11n wireless, but not all my devices support 5Ghz.
As far as I can tell the 2850n does not offer a mixed 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz mode (mixed 11g and 2.4Ghz/5Ghz would be even better). Is the 2850n ever going to offer such a mode via a firmware update or is it a limitation of the chipset?
Does anybody have any idea when such a model may be available, how often does Draytek refresh their products?
Thanks.

The 2850 has one wireless radio - if you look up how simultaneous dual band routers work, they all have two radios to operate on the two frequencies. I really doubt that a firmware update could add that facility.
