Vigor 2800g and WDS was created by mikh43
I have an old Vigor 2800g and a new Vigor 2830n. I want to ethernet link the 2800g to a smart TV and use WDS bridge or repeat so that it can access the new router in order to access the ADSL connection on the it (there is no phone connection near the location of the 2800g and I cannot readily move the 2830n to wire it by ethernet to the TV - so I thought this was a clever way of using the old router as a repeater or bridge). However, I am completely stuck as - although the 2800g manual refers to a WDS section in the menu I can see no such section at all when accessing the 2800g via 192.168.1.1 - so I can't even get started. The 2830n does have a proper WDS setup menu.
Why does the manual refer to WDS when the capability does not seem to be there?
Or do I dump the old router and buy a couple of D-plugs?
