DMZ AP700 was created by richardtea
Hi All,
I would like to setup a guest wifi access using DMZ, as the access point is at the other end of a fibre line to my 2850 router. I don't think I can put the normal traffic and the guest wifi down the same fibre line, so think DMZ would be the preferred option.
Questions
1. Can the AP700 be used as a true DMZ host if so do I need to set it as a static ip on my subnet, or a guest subnet ( prefeered ), or will it need to get its address via dhcp from the 2850. ( lots more than 1 question there )
2.Can I use the DHCP from the AP700 for allocation of address to guests.
Hope somebody can help, as my knowlwdge on DMZ's is pretty poor.
Many thanks in advance
Richard

This is how you should do it:

It's the same with the AP700 but you have to click the multiple SSID button to get the page for additional SSIDs where you can enter one with a VLAN tag

Does anyone know if the VLAN will work over normal switches?
Kind Regards

a basic switch will just pass through the VLAN tags though, so probably better to use that if you just want to use a normal network with the access point providing a guest network.
