If it is the wireless card, is it something that can be fixed, can you open it up and re-seat the card?

You could open it and check/reseat it, but you'd invalidate the warranty by opening
the case, so it really needs to be done by the service centre.

Why just not try the reflash? have nothing to loose
The other user a day before you (similar symptom) have done this successfully (assuming you will do the correct steps
