AP800 Vlan issues was created by timiswright
Hi I have 4 vlans being shared from a Vigor2830n
vlan1 on vid 10.
vlan2 on vid 20.
vlan3 on vid 30.
vlan4 on vid 40.

I am replacing my 8port smart switch and replacing it with an ap-800
I have removed the tagged ethernet from my switch and have gone into the A1 port on the ap-800
Then set up the wireless as
SSID 1 Vid 10
SSID 2 Vid 20
SSID 3 Vid 30
SSID 4 Vid 40
I then set up security on each ssid.

My issue is i can only connect to the first two SSID's if i try to connect to SSID 3 or 4 I don't receive a DHCP lease.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

The DCHP server is the 2830n as on that you can set 4 vlans.

Maybe that is the case that you cannot have 4 vlan'd ssid's it just seems strange that you have 4 ssid's.

Whats on the LAN > VLAN page?
Also which port is the AP800 plugged into on the 2830?

That setup should work :/

Hi, the ap800 was plugged into a to-link smart switch through a tagged cable. I have got round the issue at the minute by adding a second cable. On the main side "A" of the ap800 with two tagged ssid's and the third ssid untagged on the b side. And I'm not using the forth ssid as I couldn't get it to work with tagging. Maybe you can only us two tagged ssid's?

Try plugging it in directly to the router, a smart / vlan aware switch would by default have all the ports in access mode and untagged, which can result in it stripping the VLAN tags.

My question was aimed towards whether you're using port 1 on the 2830, which has a fallback option below the VLAN table, which also results in VLAN tags getting stripped from LAN port 1 if it's ticked, so untick that (make sure you still have an untagged VLAN so you don't lose access though)

also untick the enable 2 subnet feature on the ap800 when doing that
