Hello,
Any help gratefully received.
My Vigor2862 device, I'll call V, doesn't have wireless built in but I have a wireless router, I'll call WAP, I'd like to use.

WAP is DHCP enabled and I want guest users that connect to W to have internet access only.

The internal network uses LAN1. 172,16.3.1 is the gateway address.
I setup the Hotspot Web portal click through to use LAN3.
BUMP
The only documentation I can find on V shows user interface images of the Vigor2862 with the wireless feature - not the basic model I have.
Now where?

  • Enable VLANs on Vigor 2862 and assign a LAN port to LAN3.

  • Disable DHCP server on Wap

  • Assign a fixed IP address (from LAN3 range) to WAP (so you can manage it)

  • Connect WAP LAN port to "LAN3" LAN port on Vigor 2862

  • Configure Lan<->Lan firewall rule to allow only Internet access (or don't enable LAN-LAN routing in 1st place)
