I was wondering if "isolate 2.4 and 5Ghz bands" made any difference to this but I just tried it on mine and it doesn't

It should work if you go into the Wireless Wizard and select "Use the same SSID and Security Key as above" option. I've just tried this and only picking up one SSID on an iphone.
The isolate bands option only isolates clients on 2.3 and 5Ghz bands.
Hopefully this will work for you too.
