Mesh root question was created by colni
Hi All,
background
I currently have a mesh setup with the root being my vigor 2862 and two AP903s dotted about.
On Monday my ISP will be changing, as a part of this change i will be removing the vigor 2862 and installing a vigor 2866.
The Vigor 2866 has had a config restore from the 2862 , WAN has been changed ready to just "plug and play".
Questions
What happens to the mesh , when the mesh root is removed?
Will this cause any issues?
Would i be better moving the mesh root from the vigor 2862 to one of the AP903s?
thanks
Colin

Hi Colin,
I know its a bit late on the response but only just seen your post. How did you get on?, did the restore from the old unit bring across the mesh settings too and then work as expected?.
If a mesh root is removed then the nodes have nothing to communicate with so no connectivity. For the sake of 1/2 hour, i would reconfigure the MESH on the new device and then reconnect the nodes, this will ensure they are connected properly and there may be a firmware upgrade available at the same time.
