hi, thanks for that, im not exactly sure how to do that but im certain that google will help, its strange that draytek didnt say this when they checked the status, in fact they checked that there weren't any route policies active!

Without any change in traffic routing, all your traffic will go out the default WAN.
Route Policy is a good place to start. Very straight forward to configure if you have basic networking knowledge in my opinion.
You'll need to decide what traffic you want to route down the VPN tunnel. It could be all traffic from a single device on your LAN or all traffic in a LAN on a particular port. It can be an entire subnet or all traffic for all devices.
Have a read of this to get you acquainted with the UI:
