Is it still failing to connect to the PPPoE server?

It may be helpful if you could post your [WAN] > [General Setup] > [WAN1] settings.
Also in the [WAN] > [Internet Access] > WAN1 Details Page, delete anything in the Service Name field.

I'm kind of interested in what equipment the BT modem code doesn't work well with, could you also open the web console (sliders icon in top right) and get the output of "vdsl inv co"?

Thanks for your response. I've reset the router and it's connecting now. However, I'm a bit concerned that that error had occurred before, although, I must admit that we currently have a long-term fault on our line. Anyway, I've run the vdsl inv co command and here's the outcome:

G.994 vendor ID : 0XB5004244434DA4A1
G.994.1 country code : 0XB500
G.994.1 provider code : BDCM
G.994.1 vendor info : 0XA4A1
System vendor ID : 0XB5004244434D0000
System country code : 0XB500

Transmission mode capability : 0X00000000000002

My WAN settings are standard for BT (https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/vigor-2860-vdsl-setup):

Enable: Yes
Display Name: Plusnet
Physical Mode: VDSL2
DSL Mode: Auto
DSL Modem Code: AnnexA_77C717_775A11
Line Speed(Kbps): DownLink 0
UpLink 0
Active Mode: Always On

Tag value 101 0

That aside, I've noticed that if I only use TLS/SSL Encryption Setup 1.2 (the other two - 1.1 and 1.0 - unticked), this seriously slows things down (access to the router's config, web pages etc.), especially when we connect using mobile devices. I've observed this on both iOS and Android (Unless it's to do with brute force protection, as either this or TLS weren't enabled when I reset the router and all was fine, but then I enabled brute protection and unticked TLS 1.0 and 1.1, and the slowness started).

Would someone please run some tests too?

That looks like the ISP side equipment is very standard so there shouldn't have been an issue. IF you experience problems with PPP server finding again, please contact support and send them your config so that it can be investigated further.

Dunno why TLS 1.2 would make things so much slower. Unless you're using it for SSL VPN, in which instance it would put more load on the router and the client device, potentially slowing things down.
