hi Iain,

IPPBX 2820 Firmware 3.54 RC3a has a build date of 07/01/2010 11:57:16 and was realeased on 22/01/2010.

Log into your router and check the build date on the system status page (should be displayed when you log in but if not go to system maintenance then system status)

Look for these:
Model Name : VigorIPPBX 2820
Firmware Version : 3.5.4_RC3a
Build Date/Time : Jan 7 2010 11:57:16

If you have anything different to the above then your not on the 3.5.4 RC3a beta firmware.

I have not tried to see if the remote extention issue has been fixed with this release so cannot provide any more information on this at present.

Let me know if your on the latest beta release so we can see if any issues have or have not been fixed for you

All the best

Hi Lee.

Just to advise, I'm running a version from Dec'09 so i'll upgrade.

Tim,

Wasn't aware the problem was limited to just some routers. I have a d-link I can try as well as the Netgear.

Thanks for the advise.

hi Iain,

Glad everything is working for you, that's great.

Please remember: The firmware you are using is beta release and not fully tested as 100% fault free, therefore any issues you come across using this version should be reported to support@draytek.co.uk.

This will help DrayTek improve the firmware as a collective input making the IPPBX system stable and better for everyone across a variety of setups.

All the best

Hi Lee,

No, don't think the firmware helped. Here's what I did.

After original post downloaded new firmware and began installation.

While the upgrade took place, I went and picked up equipment for remote site, including d-link router, drove down the road installed and tested everything work with a single glitch.

When I got back the installation had completed (predictably), but, it was a click OK to re-boot, so I assume I was still running the old version when I connected the remote site and that the router had been the problem all along!

No problem reporting beta issues, I like the product even though some issues have been very frustrating at times :-)
