2820vn SIP passthrough was created by kez
we have a Siemens gigaset A580 IP DECT phone which plugs directly into the 2820vm ethernet port. It has it's own web server from which the SIP functionality is configured.

Works perfectly at home - simply plug into netgear router.

At work with 2820vn can dial out and folks can hear me but I can hear nothing. CAn anyone direct me to the correct configuration. Thought it was due to 2820vn on board VoIP though not sure. Want to turn all that on board stuff off ...

many thanks

Tried the below ( as posted on http://www.voipfoneuserforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4065&view=previous )
though does not seem to have worked ...

telnet 192.168.1.1
password:
sys sip_alg ?
... returns status then
sys sip_alg 0
( 0 - disable SIP ALG, 1 - enable SIP ALG )

Any ideas ...

The 2820Vn also seems to reserve the SIP ports its configured with whether there are SIP accounts set up or not - so I suggest going into each SIP account on the router and changing the SIP port from 5060 to a different one and see if that helps.

Replied by kez on topic Still not working
I have deleted any and all settings asociated with VoIP onfiguration ( these now blank ) on 8020vn. These are now totally blank.

HAve tried opening ports as follows :-

logged into 8020vn router then
NAT > Open Ports >
UDP 5004
UDP 5060
tied to WAN1 which is the one in use.
Followed this with reboot.
Still makes connection but cannot hear anything on phone speaker though can be heard perfectly at the other end.

Not working yet.

Anyone know how ? Or Any ideas ?

Even if you've deleted those profiles, try changing the SIP ports on each account from 5060 as well even if the profiles are inactive.

Folks the Siemens Gigaset DECT phone is working with VoIP pass through ie I am not using the POTS ( BT phone ) sockets on the 2080vn router.

Here is how I did it :

1) telnet 192.16.1.1
password:
sys sip_alg 1
/ this sets SIP ALG to 1 and turns that on what ever that is.

2) 192.116.1.1 > NAT > Open Ports > Index 1
Tick box "enable open ports"
"WAN Interface" Drop down box should be WAN1 or which ever WAN you use
"Local computer" IP should be the local computer IP of the gigaset IP phone, in my case I bound the IP to 192.168.1.80 ( see below )
UDP start port 5060 end port 5060
UDP start port 5004 end port 5004 ( not sure what this port does )
OK

3) 192.168.1.1 > VoIP > DialPlan > Phone book > 1 ( delete everything in here )
2, 3, 4. etc ... delete all of them. MAke sure you uncheck "enable" in every case ( top left corner ).

4) 192.168.1.1 > VoIP > DialPlan > Regional.
Make sure you uncheck "Enable Regional" ( top left corner ).

5) 192.168.1.1 > VoIP > SIP Accounts > 1 ( delete everything in here )
2, 3, 4. etc ... delete all of them. MAke sure you uncheck any boxes for phone 1 or phone 2.

6) 192.168.1.1 > LAN > Bind IP to MAC
Bind your Gigaset MAC addres to a specific IP address. I chose 192.168.1.80, an easy to remember number.

Thanks for all the help
