Vigor 2820 Dual Wan Issue was created by alandavi
I have two ADSL connections...

The connection on Vigor 2820 is syncing at 11498000bps, WAN2 is connected to an older Vigor, syncing at around 8Mbit...

Static routes to go over WAN1 or WAN2 work as expected, however although both are set to "Always On" and "Auto Weight" (although I've also tried setting manual line speeds... It seems that when WAN1 gets saturated, nothing goes over WAN2 (which has no traffic on it)

Any suggestions?

After that I then need to find out why I can't route external IPs through it to machines on the LAN ... but one thing at a time

Are you using PPOE for the WAN2 Authentication?
Under WAN, general setup is the WAN2 set to ethernet? Is it enabeled?

Under WAN, Internet Access, WAN2, is the PPOE enableled and setup with the correct authentication?

A good way to cheack for this is to setup a syslog on your PC and setup the 2820 to send the WAN information to your machine. It may show any ppp/auth problems.

A good free syslog/tftp/dhcp tools can be downloaded from http://tftpd32.jounin.net/ there is also a FAQ on the draytek support site http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb_vigor_syslog.html

Just remember to disable the dhcp server settings from within the program.

It's ethernet - and no authentication is required - the 2820 has a static IP on that network (which is a routable IP) provided from the router it's connected to (WAN2)

I'll set it up to log to syslog and see what (if anything) it's reporting.

Good to know I'm not the only one ... anyone got any ideas on how to make this thing load balance as it says it should ? :/

Or even evidence that it will load balance at all.

Round robin seems to work(ish) but I would rather have overspill....
