2820 FTTC VDSL was created by nutsy
Ive owned a 2820 for less than a year. I love the router but it was an expensive piece of kit.
With FTTC coming out this year and sooner than later. I really dont look forward to buying another router so soon.
Does anyone know if there’s anyway to get the 2820 to work with vdsl provided from fttc?
Even if it requires swapping out components from inside the router?
Any info would be helpful...
Thanks
Simon

Well you should at least be able to connect the ISP-supplied modem to WAN2 of the 2820 and use it through that.

It looks like there are plans to make one but it'll be a while, until then you'd need to use the WAN2 port on a 2820 to connect.

Can anyone confirm that the 2820 works okay with a VDSL2 modem on the 2nd Wan port on an FTTC connection yet? My ISP Zen is trialing FTTC services now so I am looking to get involved as soon as I can. I would too 'assume' that the VDSL2 modem would connect just fine to the Wan 2 Ethernet port on my 2820n but has anyone yet had a working setup?

I have the 2820n and I'm soon to get my Zen connection upgraded to FTTC. Could you explain for a technically literate person who is not a networking expert how to configure the 2820n to use the FTTC connection?
From what I can see I need to:
plug the VDSL modem into WAN2
enable WAN2
'disable' WAN1 to stop it trying to connect to ADSL
As far as I can tell all this can be done from the WAN eneral Setup screen on the web interface, although I have seen recommendations that you need to telnet into the router to properly turn off the ADSL polling.
Is there anything else I need to do?
