Chances of a seemless upgrade was created by skarbd
Hello,
I've had a 2820vsn for quite a while and it's currently sitting on firmware 3.1.2. What are the chances of going to the latest firmware and it being a seemless upgrade, with my settings staying as they are.
I tend to mainly use the wireless access lists and mac bind to ip.
Any thoughts or suggestions on preparing for a pain free upgrade would be appreciated.
On a separate note. I'm about to get this Virgin upgrade to 120Mbs and even though the firewall will cap it at 50Mbs, I just wanted to check that there isn't any upstream cap. I can't imagine there is, but I thought it was worth asking.
As always thanks for any advice.

You should be fine going in with an upgrade but just in case I'd backup your options to a file and have a copy of the old firmware to hand in case you need to roll back.
The 50MB/s cap will be for traffic going both ways simultaneously.

Thanks for that.
Is there a location to download the older firmwares from?

Just a quick question. I noticed that in the last update 3.3.7 for the 2820 the line
Improved: Adjusted default Inbound/Outbound speed for QoS: 100Mbps/100Mbps
Just to clarify, this isn't to do with the Firewall restriction of 50Mbps on the 2820?
