Hi,
Moving on from here, I have now moved back to the BT ECI modem on WAN2 as the VDSL keeps dropping after I made the changes above. Now the Router (although works) keeps going through a constant reboot cycle like this person reported -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKoYxsGEkSE
I have logged a call with Support and will await a response, it is a shame as this was a good router. My ISP has checked the line and stated it seems ok.
Any ideas?

for the reboot cycle you need to reflash via the firmware utility tool from here (V3.6.5 for windows)
http://www.draytek.com/index.php?option=com_jumi&view=application&fileid=17&Itemid=586&lang=en
For latest firmware 3.6.4.1 from below ... unless the support gives you any newer beta ... but is important to use the *RST* file to clean everything
As for modem code use the current is in your modem
http://www.draytek.com/index.php?option=com_jumi&view=application&fileid=15&Itemid=583&lang=en
follow this order to avoid time outs (have the upgrade tool ready and stand by first)
Master reset the 2850
Switch Off the 2850
-use ethernet cable & not via wifi
-Disable temporary firewall at pc
-open the utility upgrade tool 3.6.5 and connect ethernet cable to modem
-Type the IP address 192.168.1.1 or press the button next of it to detect it (pc needs to be in the same IP range)
-load the *RST* file
-password leave it blank or try admin next attempt
- leave the upgrade tool open & stand by ...
While the 2850 is off ... press and hold gently the small reset hall button ... Switch On the modem while the reset button is still under gently press ... and while the leds flashing ... let go the small reset button ... and press the send button at the upgrade tool before the leds at modem stops flashing fast
Do not turn off modem till proccess finish

Hi,
I can confirm that I'm experiencing Draytek connection drops with BT Infinity provider as well.

Rafkat,
We need to see if anyone else is having issues as I suspect a firmware issue?

I've contacted Draytek support some time ago, but none of their advices helped me, so hopefully they will fix it in next firmware...
