Thankfully someone else is seeing this!

Are you ADSL or VDSL?

I've been around the mill with the Draytek support on this one but no solution to be found I'm afraid. Apparently the 2860ac is not compatible with the MSAN, in Ireland anyway going by our testing anyway!

I will be returning them on Monday unless for some unexpected development in the next few days!

I'm on ADSL2+ at the moment (sorry should have mentioned that!). VDSL from Zen coming next week .....

Upgraded the firmware so that it would be compliant with SIN 498 - https://www.draytek.co.uk/information/our-technology/bt-sin-498

Now got a VERY slow connection.

The horrible TG589vn V3 turned up from Zen today - plugged in and get 15Mbps download
2860n+ with 3.82 VT2 gone from 10Mbps on previous firmware down to below 5Mbps !!

Not in the least encouraging !

Thank you for the reply!

If you are taking the fibre next week I'd appreciate if you could post your findings on the DSL sync speeds between the 2860 and the supplied router!

I'm curious if this issue is limited to Ireland as Draytek is suggesting or if it's a wider issue!

Thanks again!

No..sounds like you're seeing something different.. VDSL/Ireland...
The OP is ADSL/UK I think and having an issue for different reasons.

In all cases, I'd suggest liaising with support, though if the issue is because
the Telco is configuring their MSAN in a proprietary way, there may not be
a solution from the CPE end.

Hi there,

Thanks for the post!

My ISP support have been in direct contact with Manoj in the Draytek support and they haven't configured the MSAN in any proprietary way at all. For some unknown reason when the Draytek connects it will simply refuse to activate vectoring!

My supplied Technicolor router and Netgear D6400 routers both have no problems activating vectoring!

The result is a big reduction in DSL sync speeds, approx 20Mbps down and 5-6Mbps up.

My support ticket has been ongoing for over a month now but the online store where I purchased the two 2860ac routers from needed to know by today if I was returning them or not. They had already extended my returns period from 14 to 48 days!

I had emailed Manoj yesterday and today to see if anything further could be tried in this matter before they were returned but he must have accepted defeat in this issue.

It's a pity as previously I had a 2850Vn and it was a great router!

Great - looks like the 2860 doesn't work as it should :(

But, if it doesn't, I would have thought there would be a lot more grumbling reports on this forum? Or maybe people don't buy Drayteks any more!

So I am puzzled.......
