Hi al,
Just had an update from DrayTek that the missing IP4 DNS options (in the GUI - and the manual ?) are resolved in a new beta firmware.
They're going to send me a link, so once I have it installed, I'll post back with any new findings
Cheers

Just applied a beta version of the firmware for the 2952, and the DNS settings are back in IP4 for each LAN
I understand this is going to be included in v3.8.4 of the firmware which is "soon going to be a formal release"
The "Force..." option is still missing.
Haven't had a chance to play around with telnet options yet.
Cheers

A bit of bad news with the new beta firmware means I've had to abandon it :(
Having got hot-standby HA set up and working, I found that enabling ICMP flood defense in DoS defense Setup in the Firewall actually BROKE the set up and makes the routers continuously reboot.
Backing out to the stock 3.8.2.1 firmware resolves that issue, so a ticket's gone to DrayTek support (who must hate me by now :o )
Cheers

And another beta version, the "Force router to use DNS server specified in..." has been added, BUT, there's no ability to choose which LAN to use (the dropdown's missing  )
Gone back to Draytek

I spotted that too in one of the RC firmwares, thank you for reporting it :)
I think the telnet command "srv dhcp frcdnsmanl" does the same thing but that only appears to link to LAN1

Hi folks, got another beta firmware yesterday evening, so loaded it up and my HA setup is staying up and not bouncing around - so some good progress there :D
Unfortunately, the "Force router to use DNS server IP address..." option in LAN >> General Setup is still missing a dropdown to make a selection from, so I've reported this back just now.
Thanks for the pointer to "src dhcp frcdnsmanl" admin3, have to confess RTFMing this one didn't leave me very much wiser !
This is straight from the CLI reference:
srv dhcp frcdnsmanl
This command can force the router to invoke DNS Server IP address.
srv dhcp frcdnsmanl [on]
srv dhcp frcdnsmanl [off]
on It means to use manual setting for DNS setting.
Off It means to use auto settings acquired from ISP.
e.g.
> srv dhcp frcdnsmanl on
% Domain name server now is using manual settings!
> srv dhcp frcdnsmanl off
% Domain name server now is using auto settings!

Now, I'm SURE this made PERFECT sense to the person who wrote it, but I'm afraid it lost me completely :?

I've asked the question about an ETA for a general release of the updated firmware and will post back when I have any updates

FWIW the beta I've got (and seems to be behaving itself) is r61558
Cheers and a Happy New Year
