Normally with TT Fibre I get 30 Down and 6 Up.

Currently my throughput is abysmal, and steaming almost impossible.

TalkTalk said put in their router to diagnose and low and behold no issues!

On investigation; it seems on reboot the 2860 goes within seconds from 6ms / 20M & 4M to 176ms 5M & 1.3M (using Speedtest.net)

Anyone else seeing this problem?

So the plot thickens;

After a couple of hours of testing this morning;

Downgrade (and reset) to firmware v2860_387BT_576D17 (pre-critical bug release) and restore a 3.87 configuration - seems OK - repeated SPEEDTEST.NET an seems stable at sub 80ms ping and Downloads in 25M to 29M

Upgrade firmware to Vigor2860_v3.8.9.1-03v_en - problems is back again 280ms ping and 5M downloads
FYI: it was v2860_3891_BT that was giving the problems before so I decided to try (what should be identical) version from DrayTek.com

Thus, start again;

Downgrade (and reset) to firmware v2860_387BT_576D17 and restore configuration a 3.87 configuration

Upgrade to v2860_388BT_576D17

Seems to be OK

** CONCLUSION ** 3.8.8 seems to work fine - 3.8.9.1 seems to have a MAJOR BUG

@simmondp

Have you raised a support ticket with Draytek for this issue?

I think there was another similar post about this, but I can't find it at the moment. :oops:

I've not noticed it on my unit. It could mean there is a feature you're using which is causing it which isn't enabled in my cfg, or perhaps it's an issue in 3.8.9.1 which has an environmental cause (eg specific to line conditions or equipment)

A way to check could be to see if the issue occurs while running a more basic cfg on 3.8.9.1. What I'd try would be to backup the cfg, then .rst upgarde (which would reset all the settings and put the router ip back on 192.168.1.1) and then just change enough to get the unit online and get a test device connected. If I wanted to rule out other machines being a trigger for the issue I wouldn't set the SSID back initially.
