Vigor 130 as a router was created by arthurm
This may be off base but having read the manual for the Vigor 130 it seems to have all you need (firewall NAT DHCP etc) to connect a VDSL line to an unmanaged hub and make a working setup.
If I connect it to my Netgear hub it would seem to me to allow all nessesary routing, protection and core functionality or is there a barrier that it won't break out the PPPoE and allow traffic?
Advice gratefully recieved...
Arthur

You have probably been reading the manual for the European/International Vigor 130 which is a very basic router and not what is sold here in the UK.

The UK model is a modem only, not a router . You can download the spec sheet from Draytek UK.

Hi Adrian,
it's surprising to see such a large spec change in national SKU's. I've checked the UK site and appart from a very brief getting started guide there is no separate data sheet for the UK SKU that I can find.

This was the setup that I~ was hoping to copy, off to the DM200 ~I guess...

Thanks,
Arthur

Really, I would just go for a Draytek V2862 and then you can set up VLANs to separate your VoIP phones from your LAN and same for the cameras, with firewall rules as I suppose you will need remote access to them

Vigor 130 ADSL/VDSL2 Modem

The DrayTek Vigor 130 is an ADSL and VDSL modem with an Ethernet connection; it is not a router but a true ADSL/VDSL Ethernet Modem (bridge). The Vigor 130 provides compatibility with all current UK VDSL/ADSL technologies; it has been extensively tested and tuned to provide a robust and reliable DSL connection.

By providing a PPPoE bridge, the connected device (firewall, router or PC) can log into the Internet (your ISP) directly and have full control over the Internet connection - that makes the Vigor 130 a unique product. You can connect any device to the Vigor 130 which has a PPPoE client facility, which includes PCs, most Ethernet-WAN routers and the Apple Airport/Time Capsule™ products.

DrayTek caused the confusion by using the same model number , they have been told but don't seem bothered.

Using the Vigor 130 you will require a router between modem and switch. So , either a modem and separate router or as Spellbinder says, use a combined unit like the V2862.

The DM200 is just a modem as well - so I don't see how your proposed set up above would be any different to using the V130?
