Issues with a new 4G USB Modem was created by amit19595
Hi there everyone,

i am a longtime user of the draytek products and they are working well for me.
i have came into an issue lately with trying for the first time to setup 4g usb modem.
i have tried on both Vigor2762 and also on the Vigor2860 with both of them making same issue.
USB Modem i am using is Huawei E3372 with a valid sim.
works fine when plugging into a computer.

with the draytek it boots the stick, connects for about 10 seconds (gets the ip address within the lan of the stick) and than disconnects.
it seems like it's recognizing the stick correctly yet still reboots the stick everytime making the stick unusable..
anyone know how to get this thing working?
need this for HA

I have exactly the same issue with the same router & E3372 modem. Anyone any thoughts please?

Draytek support have come back to me with this:

"What version of the E3372 are you using? The two versions we support are the h-607 and the s-153. The h-320 model is not supported yet and often has the same issues as you described. I would suggest another modem which definitely works with our routers, the DLink DWM222 A1 modem. It is available online. "

Mine was the E3372-320, so thats why it doesnt work. Hopefully this will help you also.

Yup, same 320 here..
it's weird. I'm from Israel and I have contacted local support for this and they said that draytek were using this model.

Hi,

I have a 2926 with the Huawei E3372h-320 and also have the same problem with the stick being identified, connects, disconnects, in a continuous loop.
I did notice at the time that the 320 variant wasn't supported but in the UK I was unable to find the supported versions from any retailer. A huge number (most it seems) of the USB dongles on the supported list simple aren't available any more, which is really annoying.

The D-Link DWM-222 4G is available on Amazon for £70 but I don't want to buy another adapter and run the risk of having the same problem.

I think I will contact support and ask when they plan to support the Huawei E3372h-320

+1 for me on this.

Exactly the same issue with E3372h-320 on 2862 (latest firmware for both).

Reply from support:

We do not support Huawei E3372h-320 yet.
To achieve that, the support evaluation is ongoing.
Thanks a lot!

Have a nice day!

Probably going to have to buy another and be stuck with this one. However, as others have stated, those on the support list are no longer readily available.

Would be nice if someone had a solution :D
