VPN Tunnel Packet Loss with 2927

Hi all,

We decided to purchase a single 2927ac as we are looking to replace lots of 2925's and 2926's we have. We backed up the config on a 2926 and restored it to the 2927. Everything works fine but we are experiencing packet loss both ways across the IPSEC VPN tunnels running on the 2927. At the other end of these tunnels are all Draytek 2925, 2926 and 3900 units. Packet loss occurs across all tunnels. I would estimate packet loss to run at around 20-30%.

There seems to be no packet loss directly to the internet, just across the VPN tunnels.

As soon as we plug the 2926 back in, there's 0% packet loss across the tunnels.

We're running the latest firmware (4.2.0.1)

Anyone seen anything like this on their 2927's?

Have you checked the mtu size?

Thanks for answering, MTU is the same on both routers.

Hi, Draytek have asked us to set up a tunnel directly to them so they can perform some monitoring/testing. We are hoping to get this done by the end of the week. Could I ask, Are you also seeing this issue please?

I don't have a 2927 (yet), but am keeping a close eye on the early-adopters / beta-testers as I like the spec of it.

I did experience problems that sound very similar with a 3900, in the end I gave up on it without really getting to the bottom of the issue.

If you do manage to fix it, it would be really appreciated if you can post an update.
