2762 Mail Alert Service issue was created by xer0w
Hi,
The Mail Alert Service function on my 2762 has stopped working for no apparent reason, I use this to send email notifications for WAN and VPN status alerts. (It had been working reliably up until recently.)
I have it setup with a Gmail account and have verified the connection details and credentials (it uses an app password), I can also successfully send a test email from the SysLog / Mail Alert Setup page using the exact same details, so I know they work.
I have noticed that if I view the Mail Service Object details after I've configured them, the 'Use SSL' tick box is unticked even though I had enabled it, although the port number stays at 465 which is correct for SSL
I’ve updated the router to latest Firmware (3.9.6.3_BT) and performed a factory reset, nothing works. Any help appreciated.

Probably ISP blocking out-bound mail

Hi,
I'm pretty sure its not that, as I have multiple services sending email alerts from other sources, and these all use the exact same smtp config and work fine.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

I will just add that I've now tried with three different smtp servers (MS, Yahoo and Google), none of which work either.

Does it still fail to send even test email if you follow the steps in this guide? https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-mail-alert-gmail
If so, it's probably worth getting in touch with support to troubleshoot.
You can also check the router's syslog to see if there's some indication of what's not working.
