LAN to LAN connection works one way OK but not the other was created by murraymr
2 Vigor 2820n are set up with a LAN to LAN link. From one site - call it Site A - you can ping the router and PCs at the other, and set up and use network places. From the other site (Site B) - nothing! I have tried disabling firewalls and adding the router IP address of Site A to Trusted Sites, to no avail.
Can anyone tell me what I have missed? I am sure it is staring me in the face!

What are your LAN subnets and what have you put in your LAN-LAN profiles?

Sorry, I am not very clear what you mean. The subnets are 192.168.1.1 (the router) to 192.168.1.n and 192.168.2.1 (the router) to 192.168.2.n. Both routers were configured as dial out, using the static IPs from the ISP.
One more thing - the connection can only be made from Site A.

Can you check what you have put in section 4 of your LAN-LAN profile on each router. Have you by any chance got an incorrect subnet mask at one end?
FWIW, one router should be configured as dial-in and the other as dial-out. You will be able to set the Always On at the dial-out end. At the dial-in end set the Idle Timeout to 0. This should make no difference to your ping problem.

The screen prints I have show that in Section 4 My WAN IP and Remote Gateway IP are set to the default 0.0.0.0, and the Remote Network IP is the router's IP address i.e. 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1. The subnet mask I must check against the LAN section tomorrow, but they are currently the same - 255.255.255.0.
I will change one end to dial-in and change the Idle Timeout to 0. The other end I will set to Always On.
The RIP Direction is set to RX/TX Both and 'from first subnet to remote, you have to do' is set to NAT.
Many thanks for your help!

I dont know anything about RIP - I have not found it do anything useful so I turn it off.
For your Remote Network IP's can you try 192.168.1.0 and 192.168.2.0 ? I have seen something saying this can matter ('though it is illogical!).
