Wireless Country Code - Channel 13 - Macbook was created by dannyboy1121
Hi folks,
The wireless in my street is getting crowded. My 2710vn recommends channel 13 - fair enough.
Surprisingly (or not if you know about these things) my macbook won't connect.
It appears that Apple have decided to add a compliance feature to their airport software that checks the wireless country / region code broadcast by the router. For the Draytek - apprently it's announcing the wireless region as TW (i.e. Taiwan).
Surely this is a bug? What are the chances this can be changed / fixed?

Every other channel full? Have you used something like "Cain & Abel" to scan the detail of it all?

13 was the channel recommended by the router after scanning (least traffic per overlap) etc ..
I'm not going to die because of this - it's just a pain in the arse really. I want to know if the router is transmitting the wrong wireless region code and whether it can be fixed.
Running a sys cc from the cli gives a wireless region code of 0x30 .. is that UK or TW ??

0x30 is the Wireless Region Europe - Channels 1 to 13.
I suspect that the "intelligence" with Apple isn't using the Wireless Region Code, but perhaps something else, MAC, or Manufacturer's Country to Automatically screw things up.
My guess is to try and disable this 'feature' on the Apple/Airport or try and set the region manually.[/b]
