To be clear, in IE8, Chrome 6, FF 3.5.2 all exhibit the index 0 bug on my router. Just installed IE9 beta on the offchance, and it worked first time on Index 1, but not index 2, so I think it was fluke

Hmm,
I'm using FF 3.6.10, Chrome 6.0.472.59 and IE8 (64bit) 8.0.7600.16385.
The first two work reliably and IE8 is hit or miss, usually miss.
2820 is running 3.3.3_232201.
OS under browsers is Win7 Ultimate N patched up to date, just language packs not chosen
So the solution sometimes seems to fail. Did you get the 2820 with the 3.3.3. firmware already installed? Perhaps re-installing it might help, just guessing

Chrome 6.0.472.59 here, definitely never had success with that browser
Upgrading to FF 3.6.10 now
Win 7 Professional x64, UK language only
Thanks for the responses here, definitely useful

FF 3.6.10 exhibits the same issue.
So for me at least, it's cross browser. The router came preloaded with 3.3.3. Disappointing.
