What I did notice was a value of 7 or 8 (can't remember which now) in the Xdsl Link Times field. According to DrayTek, that field denotes the "Number of times that the DSL interface has reconnected since last power cycle". If it did actually reconnect 7 or 8 times in a 2 day period, DLM might have kicked in, increased the SNRM and lowered my connection speed in an attempt to improve stability. But then again - why did the 130 reconnect that many times? I didn't touch the thing while it was running.

I've plugged my HH5 back in; will leave it connected for a few days and see if the sync speed creeps back up.

Also, I've heard it mentioned that the DrayTek, because it has a Lantiq chipset, plays nicer with ECI cabs, and less so with Huawei ones that have a Broadcom chipset. My local cab is a Huawei. Any truth in that?

Another weirdness I noticed was that after 24 hours or so, my sync speed (actual rate) stayed at 79999 but the 'attainable rate' dropped to 73xxx. What gives?

Mighty confused about the whole situation. Could my 130 have a fault perhaps?

Forgot to add - I'm running the latest available firmware (3.7.4BT). Thanks!

You have the same symptoms as many 1000's of others.

BT turned on G.INP in ECI cabinets around the time your line changed, it was a total disaster. Many users experienced serious issues with their connections.

I am only 120 meters from the fibre cabinet, G.INP came on, my pings went from 8.5ms to 13.5ms, I lost 8MB synch.

My line has been stable and had a low error count for 24 months, BT ruined it in one day. G.INP reduced my line performance, the opposite of what it should do.

G.INP was then withdrawn by BT on all ECI cabinets, the old interleaving system turned on, pings went up to 25ms, synch drops again.

It takes up to 3 weeks for the DSLAM to turn off interleaving.

But my cab is not an ECI, it's a Huawei (Broadcom).
