I have spoken to my ISP about this - and they would dearly love to be able to reset the connection. I have spoken to numerous OR engineers, who also would like to be able to do this, but can't because they are not "network" engineers (ie they are the ones who fix regular line faults but are not allowed to do fancy network stuff).

It's almost worth conjuring up a fake network fault, just so you can pay the £80 to get an engineer out to do the reset...

Given your line stats you are getting a good speed. Many areas lose speed due to crosstalk which increases as more lines go live with vdsl . You can't expect much more from your line as you are on a 40/10 package .

If G.Fast or Vectoring come along speeds will improve.

Actually, I'm not on the 40/10, and I live in a rural area with not many others connected to this box.

I'd just like to get it to connect at 6db again, as it did before the line fault.

Hmm, your upstream is 10MB , which ISP are you with?

Can you post the output of " vdsl status more " ?

Plusnet. I understand that my US speed is limited by range/SNR etc, not product.

1) Plusnet apparently limit users to 10MB upstream.

2) See the ReTxEnable ? That is G.INP the new version of interleaving , that is running because the DLM system is seeing noise/errors on your line.

Have you tried listening to your line with a phone connected direct to the Test Socket [inside back of Master Socket] ? You could also try the modem connected the Test Socket, see if that changes anything.

I have "unlimited fibre extra" which is 80/20. No cap at 10!

I have had a faulty line (crackling) for 9 months. It was finally fixed 3 months ago - so I am familiar with all the usual tests (it's still connected to the test socket - I only have the one socket in the house). The line now is clear and perfect. I imagine G.INP was selected when the line was barely audible.

I really need the line to be reset, but there appears to be no mechanism to do so.
