Yes, speeds seem to be ok.

This is almost the longest it has been online on fast path since it’s been installed.

I don’t remember the snr changing when the phone was connected but to be honest, I was concentrating more on the errors.

I have just received a different make modem so I am going to try that.

The only issue is, it has a Broadcom chipset which is more suited to Huawei cabinets.

I believe ECI cabs are better suited to lantiq based modems.

Yes I heard that after I purchased the 2860, but to be honest I have had no issues. (touches wood :),
however my speed is sub 40Mbs.
The only thing I did do was turn off the hardware acceleration as it seemed to slow things down.
You might want to consider monitoring the line, snmp is available on the Drayteks,
Please let the board know how you get on.

The Draytek modems use Infeon Lantiq chips, the Huawei HG612 that you mention will have a broadcom chip

Alucidnation wrote: Hi guys,

Having some random disconnection issues, and i have noticed the latest fw is available for my 2862.

I am connected to an ECI cabinet with no vectoring support, so it has been suggested i download and install the non BT firmware as this may help with stability.

Trouble is, i don't know which one of the other two to use?

I have the choice of either the 776D07 or 77B506 code.

Thanks for any help.

This will give you the information (missing on the UK notes) you need :

File and Modem Code
For DSL models, there will be three folders: STD, MDM1 and MDM2. The files in MDM1 and
MDM2 named folder include different modem codes. If you're using a VDSL line, MDM1 and
MDM2 named firmware may bring out better performance. Available modem codes for Annex
A/Annex B are displayed as follows:
For Annex A Model,
? "Vigor2862_3.9.0_STD_en.zip" is used for modem code 776d07_772801*,
774307_771801*
? "Vigor2862_3.9.0_MDM1_en.zip" is used for modem code 779517_773F01*,
77B507_775401* (recommended for Australia)
? "Vigor2862_3.9.0_MDM2_en.zip" is used for modem code 77B506_775401,
778C06_773F01
* stands for vectoring modem code
For Annex B Model,
? "Vigor2862_3.9.0_STD_en.zip" is used for modem code 773306_771502,
773307_771C02*
? "Vigor2862_3.9.0_MDM1_en.zip" is used for modem code 779B06_774F02,
779B07_774C12*
? "Vigor2862_3.9.0_MDM2_en.zip" is used for modem code 779906_774402,
779B06_774C02
* stands for vectoring modem code

I am on an ECI cabinet and always need the alternative firmware for my Vigor130.

Thank you very much for all of your help guys.

My modem DSL version is Annex A 779517, so i have downloaded the MDM1 version.

The internet is getting a lot of use this evening so i'll try it out in the next couple of days.

Alongside that, i'll also try out the other make i have bought and do some comparisons.

:)

Edit:

Why don't Draytek make all these different firmwares easier to find?

Quick update.

Installed the mdm1 alternative firmware this morning.

Sync came in slightly lower, however, still getting errors albeit not as many.

I’ll check that again this evening and see how they look and report back.

Does it matter if I use mdm1 or mdm2?

Does it matter that I match firmware to my modem code?

Just wondering if could also try mdm2 if I need to.

Cheers!
