Plugging the phone in sounds like there may be a wiring issue, as the filter would prevent the phone causing an issue.
Perhaps the phone is on the 'wrong side' of the filter? No, modem connected to the DSL port on the filter

Are you hearing anything on the phone when its quiet (on adsl you could hear a hiss, vdsl uses different frequencies, or all the vdsl circuits would interfere with the adsl circuits. Openreach have tested and cleared the line from a coupe of HR faults.
If the phone is disconnected, do you still get disconnects? Occasionally
Have you any extensions connected via the faceplate? No, cable is direct from t joint to my socket
What cable/lead are you using to connecting the draytek to the faceplate? Used the supplied cable
What faceplate is it? Its the 5C faceplate, but it has been removed and filter plugged directly in to test socket as i get slightly higher sync speeds
Has it ever worked on vdsl correctly? Yes, originally used Openreach modem & Edgerouter but were removed from service and replaced with the Draytek upon recommendation.
Any extra wires on the outside of the house which may be connected to the exchange side?None at all as the cable is underground all the way from the cabinet.
Are you fed from overhead or underground wires? Underground
Are you closely located to a medium/short wave transmitter? No
Any radio amateurs in the locality? None
Any electrical activity in the property that may be an issue (Lookup REIN, try the kitz web site for more information)Engineer performed rein & shine tests and all came back clear

Please answer all the questions as it will assist in determining the problem.

Thanks for the reply.

My answers in bold.

To be honest, i have my suspicions of the Draytek.

I got hold of a Huawei HG612 modem that was unlocked and plugged that in.

It synced at a lower rate, however, it recorded no CRC erros, but was recording a huge amount of FEC & HEC errors.

As you can see from the Draytek, this has not recoded any HEC errors at all.

Thanks for help.

Daam, 3000 word limit, lost the long reply, so the short one...

I would definitely ensure the wiring is ok, eg

line
> filter
> modem

and the phone is connected to the phone socket on the filter, not an extension.

ie nothing connected prior filter on the line side such as extensions, bell wires etc

My2860 has worked ok for three years on adsl and vdsl

REIN tests are only as good at the time tested, is there any pattern with the disconnects?
All the other factors re line, radio transmitters seem to be ruled out by your answers.

No, nothing at all connected apart from the Openreach Pair from the cabinet to the 5C.

When i plug the phone in, it is to the phone socket of the filter.

If i use the 5C or the plug type filter i still get the same -- Errors and lots of them!

The engineer did originally blame the phone (cordless and was quite old), so i went out and bought a new one....In fact, i have now tried three and i have the same problem with all of them.

Most of the disconnections happen over night between 1-6am, so i am assuming any rein issues would not be present.

Hi
Yes I have high FEC's as well, but I have been connected for 16 hours,
so I dont see this as an issue, its more the disconnections that seem to be the issue with your equipment
Are you ok with the speeds ?
Do the SNR's change when you have the phone connected/disconnected?
