Hi Guys

Any help for a fellow Mac/iPhone user!

I have just tan delivery of a 2820 and for the life of me I cannot get VPN working from either my MacBook Air, iPhone or iPad.

With my previous Router I had iVPN running on one of my Macs but would much prefer to use the 2820's built in VPN BUT IT IS DAMN CONFUSING!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have almost given up on getting VPN to work on the 2820, I have allowed PPTP through to my iVPN client on Mac and this is working perfectly.

Failed to get connection to 2820 and also still failing with L2TP to 2820.

What a bummer.

Robster,
Can you describe your setup/problem a little more detailed ?
What did you do, what did not work like you expected ?

I will do my best.

On my iOS and Mac OSX devices I have set up both the PPTP and L2TP VPN info, Password and Secret.

And on the Vigor I BELIEVE I have setup the correct fields that match my devices.

However when I tell the device to connect, I always get the error to VPN server did not respond.

In the end I set PPTP to passthrough and I connected first time to my PPTP VPN server running on one of my Macs.

I just cannot seem to get a connection and am assuming I have made a mistake somewhere on the Vigor but cannot figure out where.

DOes this help?

Okay, please ignore my earlier comments, I have been an idiot!

Running VPN server from my Mac I have always been able to test it from insi my house by turning VPN on from my device.

But of course as VPN is being done by the Router this obviously does not work!

I am on a train and just happened to give VPN one more try, worked first time as of course I am outside the Router making a proper connection and I feel a proper idiot!

I think I am down to one problem to solve, I cannot send myself antest messgae from the Router testing my emailnset up for alarms?

I have set up the details as I have for Outlook using my MobileMe settings but no emails arrive.

Any thoughts or gotchas to benaware of?
