KRACK website has been published informing that there will be new firmware released - still no signs of it although its available on draytek.com

The 1.2.3.1 firmware is available now, and it has a switch to control the isolation between bands:

So I dare to ask - what is the point in being signed up for the 'firmware update' newsletter ?!

It's not a firmware update newsletter, though it would be used to inform of a critical issue. There is a newsletter going out soon but as the last one came out before WLAN behaviour was changed and the new one will be after it was changed again, mentioning it could confuse...

Is the newsletter is not for firmware why they mention it on the firmware download page ?

Always use the latest firmware for your product to ensure that you have the latest features as well as vital security improvements.
Critical updates should be deployed immediately.
Download firmware only from official sources from your region.
Check regularly for firmware updates.

Notifying of new f/w is one of its purposes particularly if there was a critical update...

The change in band isolation was poorly coordinated.
